Teen Age Idol / Jack Lewis

There are some DC's tribute videos, with his pics but not his music. I'm not a great fan of them. But I'm leaving my blog for a while (a short holiday to avoid those last nervous days before Christmas) and while  looking for an inspiration for today's entry, I have found this video on YT. And like always with David Cassidy, it was the beginning of a new adventure. I mean learning new things and rediscovering some old stuff. DC is always such an inspiration.

First of all, that video. Very nice fragments from TPF and DC on the beach, and a wonderful song, one of many of the Ricky Nelson's hits. Of course he was a teen idol too, known all over the world, and a musician, songwriter, singer and a popular tv and movie actor. Inducted into Rock&Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987. Ricky Nelson died in a plane crash on December 31, 1985. He was 45 years old.

'Teen Age Idol' was  recorded in 1962. The lyrics.. as if written for David.

And of course it's made me think of another video, a fragment from a DC's concert, played in 2014. David Cassidy and Gunnar Nelson, a Ricky Nelson's son, born in 1967, with his twin brother Matthew a member of a popular band, Nelson. I'm so  grateful for that video.

And last but not least..A great interview. On podcast called 'Children Of Song'. The episode called : 'David Cassidy with Matthew and Gunnar Nelson : A Teen Idol Says Goodbye'. It was published on November 22, 2017 and we can read in the introduction -

"The series producer Brad Newman hosts this special episode, which is one of our very best." Yes, it's an incredible interview, those three guys, Brad, Matthew and Gunnar are just wonderful..but it's because of David that episode is great.

It was one of his last interviews, and it's very, very moving and just impossible to listen at one take. It's long and emotional. And it's not only about David, Nelson brothers liked talking too, and it needs some knowledge of the American music and tv to really appreciate that amazing conversation. But it's worth it for many reasons..the way DC told about his grandparents has brought tears in my eyes, and he said how Jack'd loved his voice and how two of them loved singing together..And it was very meaningful the things Jack kept telling his young son : "you work for work..do not ever work for money..never show up late..never miss rehearsal...never complain..'
