David Cassidy Being Together

So David Cassidy came to London for the first time. But not a hundred fans waited for him, but many, many more. It was insane. It was like everybody, fans and the press alike fell in love with him. 'They had me doing press interviews throughout my whole stay in England, from the moment I'd wake up each day until I went to bed. In a week I became a big national name. It was overhelming.' (David Cassidy : Could It Be Forever?, 2007) But when exactly DC arrived in London ? It was Saturday, 5th February. A short note appeared  in a popular American music mag called CashBox : 'David Cassidy, pop singer and co-star of TPF tv series will be in England Feb 5 through Feb 10 on a promo tour on behalf of Bell Records. A press conference has been scheduled, and there will also be individal interviews in addition to a special guest spot on the Top Of The Pops tv show.' There are some photographs on my desk. The members of my family, those pics are changed very often by me, and there is also one pic which  is always there, and sometimes I look at it, especially while writing my blog. It's not an original pic of course, and  it's not  very good quality, a little bit blurry, and maybe frames should be different.. but I like it that way. It was made half a century ago. When David Cassidy came to London for the very first time. In February 1972. On that pic he is looking straight at the camera like he wanted to say : ' Hey people are you not fed up with those pictures??' David in London in February 1972, the beginning of that never ending love affair DC had with his UK fans. At the end of 1971 DC was very tired, because of constant working, and unhappy (Meredith B.), and he also wanted some privacy, so decided on holiday in Europe. People there didn't know The Partridge Family and his face. It was 3 weeks of real and much needed freedo...

I've been to London in November at least three times,  once in 2012. I left for home early morning on 11th having no idea that on that day David Cassidy was in London too..In the evening (when I was already at home) he played at Wembley Arena. And he sang the hit of which he said 'this one belongs to you and me.' My first DC's song.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdZTx06jrwQ But my English friend D. had a similar experience. In the 70s, she came to London from Kenya on May26th 1974, the day DC played the White City concert. I've read more such stories. I was also in London on November 21st, 2018, but I'm afraid I will not come this year. It's just a  two hour- flight away. In 2018 I came at 8 the morning and left at 8 in the evening, it was so important to meet with my friends and be there on the first anniversary.  But now London seems so far away from Poland..
