Going To London ..In November
I've been to London in November at least three times, once in 2012. I left for home early morning on 11th having no idea that on that day David Cassidy was in London too..In the evening (when I was already at home) he played at Wembley Arena. And he sang the hit of which he said 'this one belongs to you and me.' My first DC's song..

But my English friend D. had a similar experience. In the 70s, she came to London from Kenya on May26th 1974, the day DC played the White City concert. I've read more such stories. I was also in London on November 21st, 2018, but I'm afraid I will not come this year. It's just a two hour- flight away. In 2018 I came at 8 the morning and left at 8 in the evening, it was so important to meet with my friends and be there on the first anniversary. But now London seems so far away from Poland..
Every trip in DC's footsteps starts there. The Phoenix Theatre, the Garden and St Giles in the Fields Church. And that church has an amazing history, I read a lot about it, this is a short video where you can see it.

The present church is the third on the site since the parish was founded (in 1101). It was built in 1731-33, escaped direct bombing hits during the Second World War...A lot of things going there, meetings, concerts, the church is known as the Poets' Church, a truly magical place.
And Pauline Tombs again has written for my blog and for us. This time about that church and it's connection with David Cassidy. Thank you so much Pauline, great read!
A Place to Reflect and Remember
Following the placement of the David Cassidy Memorial Plaque at the Phoenix Theatre.
Anita and Maggie (members of the plaque committee) stumbled across a little Garden, which became known to us as the Phoenix Garden and in September 2018, a journey began with the garden, to have a lasting memory of David Cassidy, which is a story of its own.
However, whilst this was taking place, we looked for other ways to remember and celebrate David Cassidy, local to the plaque.
This is when the beautiful St Giles in the Fields Church came to mind, just perfect!
In November 2018, we contacted the church and discussed with the administrator, what we were looking to do and the possibility of their support.
Just a few days later, the Reverend of the Church replied to us and was extremely accommodating in our request.
It was funny, that when we met up with the Reverend, he said he had gone away and done a little research on David Cassidy and was surprised in the journey he had been on! The church administrator had also seen David Cassidy in Time, the Dominion Theatre just being a 5 minute or so walk away from the St Giles in the Fields Church.
On the 1st Anniversary 21/11/18, the church would set up a memorial table, with a church Candle, (provided by the church) a flower arrangement, tea light candles to light, a memorial book to leave a message and sign, along with a book of special pictures, provided by fans, to view, when visiting and just take some time out, to reflect and remember. Weronika herself was one of the fans to visit this day!
Times changed and the original administrator, moved on in the Spring of 2019 and a replacement made in the Autumn of 2019, later in the year, the Reverend too, did his last service with the church, on Christmas Day 2019.
The new Reverend was eventually in place for the New Year 2021.
Even though there have been changes, the church has continued to support us in memory of David Cassidy not only on the November Anniversary but in April too at David Cassidy’s birthday time.
It’s hard to believe but we will shortly be coming up for our 4thAnniversary table in St Giles in the Fields.
