David Cassidy Being Together

There are some DC's tribute videos, with his pics but not his music. I'm not a great fan of them. But I'm leaving my blog for a while (a short holiday to avoid those last nervous days before Christmas) and while  looking for an inspiration for today's entry, I have found this video on YT. And like always with David Cassidy, it was the beginning of a new adventure. I mean learning new things and rediscovering some old stuff. DC is always such an inspiration. First of all, that video. Very nice fragments from TPF and DC on the beach, and a wonderful song, one of many of the Ricky Nelson's hits. Of course he was a teen idol too, known all over the world, and a musician, songwriter, singer and a popular tv and movie actor. Inducted into Rock&Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987. I've been watching today the DC concert from 2012, the recent updade on the website. How not to love him. He was a great singer. June 30, 2012. South Point Casino, Las Vegas. Thank you Lucio so much for this extraordinary gift for all of us. Great editing, wonderful sound, more like a doc from a concert not just a video. Very moving pics with fans. In general you can feel like actually being there. It's so moving that it's simply impossible to watch it at one time. I couldn't. A David Cassidy's concert from 2003 has been added to the website. A video, not great quality, shaking image, at times unrecognizable sound, some noises and sounds of other music and conversations. A highway behind the scene..An outdoor concert, from February 22, 2003. Gulfstream Park (a horseracing track), Hallandale, Fl. Impossible to say how many people was in audience, but it  was an  enthusiastic crowd, some  fans brought the old DC and Partridge Family's albums with them. The security men telling people to push back.. In 2003 DC played 32 concerts, only in the USA, and that particular one was the first that year. I've had this song on my mind for a few last days.  The original version was recorded by Kelly Gordon in 1969. I have never heard about him.    I love  discovering the stories behind the DC's songs. He recorded or performed on stage a lot of covers, but he always  added something from himself, from his own experiences, those covers became his own, different and sometimes better than the originals.  This is a story of a song which David Cassidy often performed live in the 2010s, and this blues standard was the last song sung by him on his posthumous 'Songs My Father Taught Me' EP. Fighting with pain, trying to make it, for himself, for his father, for his family and friends, for his band, and for us, his fans. Peter Noone became the lead singer of Herman's Hermits when he was just 15 (born 1947). The group was from Manchester , and from 1964 to 1968 they were very popular , and really huge in the US with 2  Top 1 hits there. They were known in Poland too, their songs  were still  played on our radio in the 70s. I loved 'No Milk Today' written by a teen ..Graham Gouldman , and especially 'The End Of The World' .  At the beginning of May 2019 I spent a few days in Liverpool. I was to meet with my English friends and  I also wanted to see the city. It was very cold and  windy , but it was a great stay, I loved Merseyside Maritime Museum , and especially Walker Art Gallery with just amazing collection of the 20th century works , also  Lucian Freud's and David Hockney's paintings , and   Liverpool is a great walking city , so I walked a lot through the streets of  The Beatles' native hometown . I was to meet with my friends at the Royal Albert Dock  and because I came there too early , I started just strolling aimlessly at the Dock and in the area,  at last I found a nice bench ,  sat down and started searching Internet for the Echo Arena..Yes, very funny , it was just about 200 meters from my bench...Echo Arena, David Cassidy played there his last concert in the UK , on November 17 th, 2012..His very first concert in England was not far from the Ec...

In  2011 David Cassidy played 23 concerts in the US and one in London. They were very memorable, special ones, and David in spite of many problems in his private life was in fantastic form , and he looked soo handsome.. In February he gave 3 concerts with Omaha Symphony Orchestra (2nd half of each show) , those concerts were very special for him. It's not going to be easy writing about the last DC's years. But I think they are very important part of his legacy. The lesson for us how not to give up when life become difficult. The way DC dealt with those problems, the way he faught to the end , fans watched his struggles and supported him. And he had a lot of very serious , written a lot about in tabloids , personal, financial and health problems. Suddenly again the future was unknown and scary..another crossroad 'I never say never.
