Some Great Concerts From 2011 and I Think I Love You Animal Foundation

In  2011 David Cassidy played 23 concerts in the US and one in London. They were very memorable, special ones, and David in spite of many problems in his private life was in fantastic form , and he looked soo handsome..

In February he gave 3 concerts with Omaha Symphony Orchestra (2nd half of each show) , those concerts were very special for him. David sang beautifully, and looked just fabulous in the tuxedo (full length but no tails)

On April 9th he played an amazing concert at the Superstar Theatre in Atlantic City , NY.  another DC's great performance, despite having eye surgery 8 days prior and having a cold. I'd have paid any money to be there that night..This time the opener was Come On Get Happy and a huge birthday cake for David was brought on stage. That concert was really special, so emotional . Just listen to  David singing  'Ain't No Sunshine'

On  stage DC was accompanied by his son Beau with his band 'Fates and.... Danny Bonaduce. Danny not only opened the show with his stand up comedy routine , but also sang with David 'Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted' , and..played the bass. After 40 years Keith and Danny Partridge live on stage ..That was something. In 2010 when they performed together, David told Danny - 'It's time you learned how to play TPF's hits.' And he did. Introducing the song Danny told the audience : 'You wanna see something nobody has ever seen before? Me, plugging in a bass guitar!' (April10th, 2011 Wayne Parry, www.abcnewsgo.com)

Before his London concert, David Cassidy appeared (April 11th) on the popular BBC programme called 'The One Show' . He was always very  welcomed in the UK , treated like a superstar but at the same time like an old friend. David on such programmes was  friendly and smiling,  but that time he had an argument with a fellow guest, former jockey and a British horse racing journalist Brough Scott. They got into a discussion about the Grand National Race. It's a famous steeplechase (first run in 1839) with horses jumping 30 fences over 2 laps. An event very prominent in British culture..but DC didn't hesitate to speak his mind . He said that in the US jumping racing was very rare and : ' your jump racing (in Britain) is so incredibly challenging. We're talking about horses and animals. I love the event, I love racing with passion more than anyone. The breeding programmes have gotten so unsound. The breeders gone for speed not for strength.' The host was forced to interrupt the discussion. DC had the last word..

After David died, a non profit organization called I Think I Love You  Animal Foundation , based in New York , was formed. David all his life was an owner of many domestic animals ( including a beloved parrot named Elmer) and of course he was a breeder and owner of many thoroughbreds, and he supported safe retirement programs for racehorses. Gary Contessa, DC's close friend and a famous horse trainer said ' I Think I Love You Animal Foundation is a celebration of David Cassidy's life. His love for horses was second to one.' On July 9th the organisation will hold its first world- wide online event - 'David Cassidy 'Then&Now''

On April1th 2011 David played his birthday show at the sold out London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo. Beau also performed with his band, and of course Happy Birthday was sung. Like at every DC's concert in the UK fans were singing with David his old hits..including Last Kiss. As an encore David sang 'Cry'..
