Labor Of Love / David Cassidy, Sue Shifrin and Michael Dan Ehmig
The lyrics of this song are not related to the topic of today's blog, but its title certainly is.

Less than 10k views after 12 years. It's a difficult truth, but that's the way it is. Fans want to watch David's pics and first of all listen to his songs (solo and Partridge Family) from the 70s.
I've finished Johnny Ray Miller's book, 'When We're Singin' The Partridge Family & Their Music', it's worth every penny and it was so wonderful I could get my copy directly from the author's hands. In West Orange.

What an extraordinary book! It's labor of love, but not just the author's, but of course we own this book to wonderful Johnny Lee Miller. I can only imagine the amount of time and work needed to write and complete such a book, taking into account all aspects of the phenomenon that it was The Partridge Family. 467 pages full of fascinating facts and memories of eyewitnesses, people who created the series and its greatest legacy which was the music. The list of the people Johnny Lee Miller interviewed for this project is very long and very moving, so many of them have passed away since the book was published.
This is an old video where Johnny Lee Miller tells how the book started and he asked viewers to back this amazing project.

The list of the 'Backers' is in Acknowledgments, and Johnny thanks them from the bottom of his heart. We fans are also so grateful. Because of them we've got a book not only sooo interesting, absolutely unique and must have for fans and people interested in the history of TV and pop music, but also its beautifully edited and is provided with comprehensive supplements - discography, sources and photo credits. For me those supplements are full of interesting info.
I've read the list of Backers, I found some names known to me, fellow fans from the US, Australia and Europe ; people like Tina Funk, the founder of Just David Fan Club, the longest ever run David's fan club; or Luise Poynton, the author of 'Cherish' and The David Cassidy Connections Podcast. But also Bob Claver, the show executive producer. He died just 3 weeks after David.
I've read the list of people, the members of hardworking Johnny's team. And the list of the people who shared with us photos of their memorabilia. This book is truly labor of love, for each and every person who worked for, contributed for or backed the project.
In this video Johnny Ray Miller is giving intervew answering questions about the book.
