December. Tell Me It's Not True / William Russell

December. Even when David was a kid.. 'Generally,Christmas was one of the saddest times in my childhood because from the time my parents split up until I started seeing my dad in California, both my father and mother were gone.' ( David Cassidy: Could It Be Forever?, 2007) And both of them died in December, Jack, 45 years ago on the 12th, and Evelyn in 2012, on the 23th. DC wrote about that horrible day, December 12, 1976 in his autobiography, and I've written about this tragedy a few times this year. Parents and children. Father and son. Jack and David. They didn't have a chance to understand each other and forgive, build a relationship on an adult level. Maybe it could have never been possible. Poor DC was left with all that pain  forever, for the rest of his days.  It was  an amazing coincidence ."Shaun Cassidy :' I associate my New York experience (performing with DC on Broadway in Blood Brothers) with our dad and he was very successful on Broadway, he won ...

'We Don't Have A Tradition Of Picking On Each Other'

That what Shaun said. And David : 'I'm not in a competition with my brother' Here they are with Petula Clark..I know it's just a commercial, but for all of them, especially for David Cassidy, those were the happy days.. I know that I've written several times about Blood Brothers, we all know everything about it..David and Shaun could have  worked together much earlier, DC in his book even wrote this ' for a couple of years, 1977-79, he (Shaun) had enormous success on TV, with his record and in concert. It would have been a trip if we could have worked together. As it turned out, we had to wait 15 years..' In 1993 for  Los Angeles Times (Blake Green, September 3), Shaun said :'We've had opportunities to work together before but either we weren't interested or available' and David :' The offers were generally exploitative in nature' . The author of that article wrote : 'The Broadway producers(..) reportedly checked if the real brot...

It seems that Shaun Cassidy is a little bit like a 'hot potato' for me. Some discussion still going on about what I've written, who was more popular David or Shaun..But only today I've found that 'Da Doo Ron Ron' is on the Billboard chart called "Greatest Of All Time Songs Of The Summer', on August 24 peak position -307 after so many years. But enough of this.  I'm a DC fan but I also appreciate what his younger brother has done and I write about facts. Of course I'd love to see David Cassidy popular and known all over the world. It makes me sad that he is not regarded as one of the best singers ever. Shaun  wanted to change his image, like before him David had tried. In September 1980 his last album was released, called 'Wasp'.  Produced by Todd Rundgren with the group Utopia as the backing band. The album has a 'new wave' feel. This is not my kind of music,  I can only say that the covers Shaun did were very ambitious - Pete To...

Blood Brothers and Petula Clark

Maybe because the weather has changed..and I can feel that this is the end of summer,  I've been very moved while listening to DC radio interviews from 1994 and 1995 . David Cassidy talking about Blood Brothers, his career and his fans.. The first interview is from October 17, 1994 (WSNY 94.7 FM  Columbus, Ohio), DC in the evening was to perform in Blood Brothers that day ( an opening night in Columbus)..The broadcast was live, rather early in the morning, DC was tired, after 7 weeks of touring. This is just a raw recording  of that programme, with adverts, nothing was edited etc..so I've felt like listening to a live broadcast not to the old recording of sth what happened  27 years ago..From the 12th minute DC started talking with listeners..and this is really incredible and so moving, that bond he had with  fans.. http://www.davidcassidy.com/fansite/TvFilmPages/Radio1994October17.mp3 At the first part of that interview he told about the history of 'Blood...
