He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother / Bobby Scott, Bob Russell

I've had this song on my mind for a few last days.

The original version was recorded by Kelly Gordon in 1969. I have never heard about him. A known producer, he also recorded one solo album.  Born in 1932, died in 1981 of lung cancer..

But life is not fair, and someone else's version became a worldwide hit the same year..I love the Hollies and Allan Clarke's voice. One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded..

And David Cassidy. With Osmond brothers. In London, April 14th, 2007.  I can't say that I know much about the Osmonds, even if their songs were played on our radio in the 70s and at school parties. 'Puppy Love' of course, that was Donny. And Jimmy had a song I really didn't like..you know about someone..long haired and  from (poor) Loverpool..

It was a great hit whatever I think about it.

And many years later they performed together, David Cassidy and Jimmy, Jay and Wayne, and that song, again so important..
