In 2019, because of David Cassidy, I went for my first ever trip to The United States..I have never thought that such a journey would be possible..For many years it was absolutely out of the question..Too far, too expensive and so difficult to get visa.But I've stopped working, my kids are very grown up..it wasn't that expensive anymore ..and I started to  think about it...First I got visa..It was stressful and funny  , we had a big laugh with the consul.His face when he heard that I wanted to go to America because of David..'Cassidy...Cassidy?..aaaa Shaun?!!' I said " The other one'..He finally remembered.."The Partridge Family???...But I was a little boy!'..What a gentleman..But I got visa and best wishes ..happy trails.

At the beginning of 2019, I got an accommodation list..LA..Bakersfield...Page in Arizona...somewhere outside San Francisco..Hotel Circus Circus in Las Vegas..the names didn't tell me much..and..wow..Harrah's Hotel and Casino. Laughlin, Nevada..Is it possible? I'm going to sleep in the same hotel as..David Cassidy?? The same city where Suzanne Crough ,Tracylived and died..Can you believe it?  Amazing..

Those wonderful 16 days..how many times I thought to myself.."David was here"..Californian beaches..I even plunged into the ocean..Big Sur..San Diego..Pacific Highway, Yosemite Park..Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon..Monument Valley..I left my heart..not only in San Francisco..

And Laughlin..we arrived at dusk, which is the best time for arriving anywhere, very windy, warm (the end of March). Strange place, in the middle of nothing. In Poland one town very easily coming into another, it's like this - city - suburbia- another city. In the USA ( at least in the states I visited) a city suddenly ends..goodbye and welcome to wild country. And Laughlin..built along Colorado River, is in the middle of the desert, founded in 1964, with about 7000 residents. Mini Las Vegas, three states meet there- Nevada, California and Arizona.

The place to come, spend some nights in one of the hotels, eat well, gamble and see a good show..no matter who is performing..it should be fun...And David Cassidy entertained such audience..yes I know, also fans who came just for him..He performed at Harrah's outdoor theatre on November5, 2000 and on May23 and 24, 2001..I read that Sue and Beau and also Suzanne, her husband and their kids were in audience..But it was hard for me to imagine him playing there..

    What an amazing experience weronika ,its a holiday of a lifetime and to retrace places where David had been must have been so moving .thankyou for sharing with us .

    So happy you like the post Claudette..It was a holiday of a lifetime..I've seen some of the most beautiful views on Earth..and so many places where DC worked and lived..and Ive met fantastic people, made new friends..I was to go to the East Coast this year..maybe in 2012.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
