I'm Still Standing / Elton John, Bernie Taupin /

David Cassidy was singing that Elton's  hit during his British tour in 1985. btw I've heard recently that Elton John has written about DC in his autobiography. They were friends in the 70s.

He was truly an amazing live performer , David Cassidy was..always giving 100% or even more.. The song was sung nearly at the end of 2-hour very demanding show , and at one of the last concerts of that long and very emotional tour. Between September 21st and October 26th , 1985, DC played 21 concerts all over the UK , at the very known and prestigous conncert halls, like  Cornwall Coliseum in St. Austell, Royal Albert Hall in London, Apollo Theatre in  Oxford and in Manchester, Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham , The Edinburgh Playhouse, Odeon Birmingham to name a few, some of those places are not exist any more. The tour was a great success .

David Wigg :'70's pop idol has stormed back into the big time. His first British tour for 11 years has been greeted ecstatically by the fans who have never forgotten him..'

Caroline Sullivan: 'It was (..) a better show than many I've seen by bands who would despise Cassidy for his perpetual cuteness. (..) it was a surprise to find that his voice has aquired a pleasingly husky resonance that nicely complemented his material, that he apparently hasn't aged a day in the last 15 years and that 'Cherish' or 'ITILY' evoked a bleary nostalgia in yours truly..'

He had a very solid band playing with him, among them twin brothers Keith and Tim Atack, former members of the 70s British teen pop group 'Child'..

But..soon everything was over..the tour, the album dropped off charts ..David returned home, but he mostly lived alone in LA, and his new wife on her farm..

David and Meryl Tanz married in December 1984 and at the beginning of January 1985 they came to London ,with Meryl's daughter Caroline. David Cassidy was very busy that whole year, recording and making videos, and later promoting his album, he had  the tour, and.. also became a very known figure in London's night club's life. DC had a lot of glamorous, mostly younger friends, the most famous of them was George Michael of course, and he obviously enjoyed his popularity..At one point Meryl returned home, alone.. And..around May 1986 :

'..I packed what I could fit into 2 suitcases and walked out the door, never to return. I left that marriage with not much more than $600 in my bank account..and I didn't have a car. I didn't have a job. I didn't have anywhere to live. And I was drinking and smoking way too much..' (David Cassidy : 'C'mon, Get Happy..', 1994)

This last song..call me old and sentimental..but I love it..
