Blood Brothers (Willy Russell) Part 4. The Phoenix Theatre
I've thought that I finished with Blood Brothers, but I was wrong. I should write one more post about it .First, let's watch this video, it's one of the most moving David Cassidy's interview I have ever seen. The interview is from 2001 , but I 've decided to include it here, because on that programme DC met with Blood Brothers' producer Bill Kenwright and his co-star and friend , Petula Clark. It's really amazing and very moving conversation. I know that such talk shows have own scripts ..but this one is so sincere... just friends so happy to see each other again..(I know Im very naive...)

But let's return to 1995 .In autumn of that year David Cassidy toured the UK with the Blood Brothers, and he got a very, very warm welcome. He was always a star there. The tour was a great success, and there were many fans who watched Blood Brothers several times, just for David. While performing in Bristol, he was invited with Sue and Beau, to turn on the city Christmas lights.
In the end he performed in London at The Phoenix Theatre, and every show was sold out. The theatre, with a capacity of 1012 on 3 levels, is in the West End, located at Charing Cross Road, a beautiful building, the interior look is based on a traditional Italian theatre. Blood Brothers was transferred there in November 1991, and ended a 21-run in November 2012, after becoming the longest running production at the theatre. In that clip we can see DC outside The Phoenix Theatre talking with fans, and also inside giving an interview..

David Cassidy's the last performance in London was on January 5th,1996, and the next day he returned home..But his role in Blood Brothers wasn't forgotten, and 22 years later , on the 21st September, 2018, the memorial plaque donated by his fans was unveiled..I couldn't come, but my very close friends were there that day..
