Crazy Over You...David Cassidy Unreleased Songs

There are such songs..You listen once..ok, not bad, a next rock ballad about wanting someone really badly..but after 15 minutes, without any reason , you want to listen once more..and after 24 hours you are completely addicted. This is such a song , unreleased DC's  hidden gem, 'Crazy Over You'

David Cassidy played that demo (and some others) on the Mark and Brian radio show in May 1989 (I wrote about in in the post from 20thMarch)..Those others were 'Treat Me Like You Used To' and 'I'll Never Stop Loving You'..Both were much safer, less risky, much more 'hit' potential..Maybe..

Unreleased DC songs, there are quite a lot of them ,there  are some pages dedicated to unreleased tracks on the DC website, where you can find all info.

David Cassidy started writing his own music very early, on the set of the first season of TPF. He had an amazing opportunity to learn from outstanding American composers, music producers, arrangers, some of the best sessions musians at that time. Those great professionals genuinely liked that kid, David Cassidy. They appreciated his talent , and that he was a very nice and cool guy, and David was a very quick learner and he knew how to use the things he was taught. It was like going to the best music academy. Some songs written by DC (or co-wrote with Wes) were released on TPF albums, but some didn't..For many different reasons..Can you imagine that schoolboy, Keith P. writing and singing such a song in 1971???

David Cassidy said that from Bell years had been about 100 unrealeased songs. We know, that during his TPF years, there were 3-5 sessions per week , pretty much non stop. For each TPF album were 12-14 songs  recorded, and always only 11 released. And of course it was Wes Farrell who had a final word. Some songs' lyrics were more for adults than for teenage girls, like Warm My Soul, which was later recorded by DC for his 1972 Rock Me Baby album

There are also some TPF's songs which appeared on the show , but not on any album. Especially songs from the last 4th season, because one more album was planned, but Screen Gem resigned from it. There are some great songs in that category : 'When Love's Talked About' , 'Crying In The Rain' and   one of my favourite TPF's song , great to sing along with David :

And of course there are songs he performed on various tv programmes, just once and never again, like very moving 'Then I'll Be Someone' (my post Feb10), or 'As Time Goes By', or songs on 'The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour' and that amazing duo with legendary Bob Hope when they sang together 'When The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Snoot'..David was great ..:'..my name is Mary Ann..'
