Tell Me True /David Cassidy, Sue Shifrin/
How I wish we lived in a normal world before the pandemic time..To go for a ball or a big party, and wear something ..exciting and elegant ..I look not bad in dark green, a good dancing partner.. and 'Tell Me True' singing by DC..Heaven.. I love dancing.

'Didn't You Used To Be' , this album was released on August 11th , 1992 by Scotti Bros. I've already written about some songs from it, 'Like Father, Like Son', 'I Never Stop Loving You' ,'One True Love' and 'Treat Me Like You Used To.' .My favourite DC's album from the 90s. The album to listen to in the evening , a comfortable armchair, or better on the beach ...sunset..good headphones and a glass of wine..This album was more mature, more sophisticated than DC's previous album. More R&B oriented, funk and soul, harmonies, the songs covered so many types of music, from the soulful ballads to rock. But David's voice..that was the most important instrument on that album..Outstanding performance, and his vocal range was simply amazing. We can also hear that he was a perfectionist. Every note, every word. Perfection.."For All The Lonely'

It was an album to listen to as a whole, not just a collection of catchy tunes. It's a pity that a single wasn't released, I think 'Tell Me True' , would have been a hit. From 10 songs, 9 were written by David and Sue , some of them also in collaboration with John Wetton, Mark Spiro and Steve Diamond. One song was written by Sue Shifrin and Ken Gold..'It's Over'

But still there were people who couldn't forget DC's past and despised everything he did : '.(about the album) it was an undistinguished mess, all production and no songs..you had to dig in earnest to find David's thin and tinny presence burned beneth the mix..Cassidy and his immediately frightingly familiar and breathy croon are front and center. There is one great song , 'For All The Lonely'. It's got a smooth, supple beat. The album has little revelation. Cassidy, once a crown prince of bubble gum pop , has (or really, really wants to have), a soul.' (Tom Maurstad, Sep13, 1992,Syracuse Harald).
From August 12 to September 6 David was on tour again, in the U.S, this time supporting his old friends from The Beach Boys. It was an opportunity to play for much bigger audience , and not only for own fans. He usually played 10 songs, mix of old and new hits, and he was great and worked very hard for his money.

Robert G. Robbins :'Cassidy always had a great pop voice needed from the beginning to gain viewers and to make TPF show and record a huge hit. His vocal talent was also well respected in the music field. One listens to the vocal performance on the 'For All The Lonely; and anyone with an open mind and an ear for melody will know Cassidy can sing..Cassidy's performance , along with his stage presence, equalled The Beach Boys.'
