River In Time / Sue Shifrin, Andrew Gold
River In Time..will be at the end of that post, but first something I've wanted to write about many times.
The Partridge Family was a very popular tv series, so nothing unusal that a lot of very known actors appeared as guest stars. I want to write about some of them, maybe not the most famous, but very important for the series or just about people whom I like. Because there were so many truly outstanding actors on the set of TPF, I will write about them from time to time. Today - Gordon Jump, Alan Oppenheimer and Bert Convy.
Gordon Jump.(1932-2003), an actor who played in 7 TPF's episodes..Someone difficult to remember, each time it was just a very short appearance - he was the man with a transistor radio in the 1st episode, in 'Tale Of Two Hamsters' the man who agreed selling hamsters with TPF's albums, the father whose daughter wanted to buy a house with Keith in it , the cop who met Keith and Danny in 'Partridge Papers' , the minister in 'The Modfather' and a parent watching match in 'The Strike-Out King' , and he also appeared in 'Art For Mom's Sake'..Nobody really, but nearly each time someone who make us smile..
Alan Oppenheimer , a true gigant of tv, born in 1930, 319 credits, and he still works as a voice actor. Amazing man. He first worked with 19 year old David Cassidy in Ironside, in the episode 'Stolen On Demand'. He played Arnold Cane, the man who was the boss of the gang, and he was also fascinated by the David's character.

He appeared in 3 TPF's episodes , the most memorable as Lorenzo Bernard, who loved Shirley's paintings.
Bert Convy (1933-1991) - a multi -talented man, professional baseball player at the age of 17, a singer who with a vocal band had a Top- 10 hit in 1955. A very successful stage, film and tv actor. On TPF he played dr Whelander (Whatever Happened To Moby Dick?' and twice Shirley's love interest - Richard Lawrence. But first of all , he was a very known tv personality and a game show host. He produced and was a host of 'Win, Lose Or Draw' and I think it was his idea to invite DC to this programme, at the time when David was forgotten in his native country.

In April 1990 Bert Convy was admitted to hospital after collapsing after visiting his mother. He was diagnozed with inoperable brain tumor. He was is separation with his wife (they were married for many years with 3 children), but he fell in love with 25 year old woman, and when he learned about the tumor he asked his wife for divorce. She agreed , and in Feb 1991 he married his Catherine. He died 5 months later. Here we can see Bert with his tv daughter, Jodie Foster, listening to David Cassidy

Today we have two important anniversaries. On May 21st, 1923 , Evelyn Ward, David Cassidy's mother was born.
And also today..it's 3 and a half years since David Cassidy passed.. Time..it's cruel and just for all of us..But love is a river in time..
