A documentary called 'Through It All. The Life And Influence Of Richie Furay' is in post-production and I'm waiting for it. Great and very proper title. He and his music inspired a lot of people. But I'm writing this post after listening to his conversation with Louise Poynton .The David Cassidy Connections again.
Richie Furay is 77 years old, he is a great talker, so enthusiastic, funny, interesting, smart, optimistic and charming. Someone I'd love to meet in person. This conversation wasn't very easy to listen for me, so intense and sincere and also Richie talks a little bit too fast, but it was worth it. The way he speaks about his wife, Nancy, and how his family is important for him, that was very moving. I love what he's said about the creativity and his song writing, yes it should have been like that And that part of conversation about his faith and how he deals with loss of so many friends..Wow, that was amazing. Richie Furay is very active, has a lot of new projects, I'm looking forward to hear his upcoming album with country standards, among them with his cover of that great Marc Cohn's song

And David Cassidy. Already at the beginning of the conversation, Richie Furay's said sth very interesting. That for a short time he was very close with DC, they were real buddies, but when they met again after some years, that meeting was very casual and DC looked like another man..And I've heard and read more such reflections, spoken by other people. How great it was to be DC's friend, so intense experience, but short-lived. Like a kind of romance. Of course, sometimes those friendships started bc of work, music project etc and finished with the end of them, and it's a common thing of course, but his former friends really regret that they lost contact with David. It was as he was first to end the relationship so as not to feel rejected..As he didn't believe that a friendship, love could last..

Yes, they were friends, in the mid and late 70s, especially in 1977 and 1978, Richie and David, it wasn't only about work, they were hanging out, and also spent a lot of time at DC's or Richie's place, because David still was mobbed by fans. It was a mutual friendship, a lot of respect, David appreciated that Richie didn't want anything from him like many people did. They just loved spending time together, talking, drinking beer..being together..
'Love in Bloom'. originally Richie's composition called 'For Someone I Love' , David reworked it.
