What an outstanding voice..Such sadness, longing. What a shame that so many people have no idea, never heard about Dusty Springfield, she was an exceptional singer.
'Oh No, Not My Baby' was first released by Maxine Brown in 1964, Billboard's highest number 24. This song is regarded as an American standard, a lot of artists made covers of it. Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt. There are 2 very good covers from 1973. Rod Stewart's was a hit in the UK

And The Partridge Family's..from 'Bulletin Board'. I must say that I like that album more and more, it should be regarded as David Cassidy's solo album really. He sings that standard with such a soul or even bluesy feeling..and also you can hear how he enjoyed singing it, it was fun, and.. he was sure of the girl's feelings..Who could have left David Cassidy in 1973?? David's interpretation and performance of that song is great

The song was used in the episode called 'Double Trouble', from Season 4 . It's one of those episodes where DC looked like a rock star but according to script Keith had troubles to find a date..Very funny. In that episode DC could really show his acting skills, he is nearly in every scene.
PS. Aretha's great version .
