It nearly always makes me sad watching it. David and Stephanie, so talented, so beautiful, still so young, there is something very vulnerable about them, fragile, can't find right words, they are so alike. Both beautiful and dedicated professionals.
Stephanie Lawrence was just 4 months older than David Cassidy, her father was a singer, her mum a ballet dancer. Stephanie also wanted to be a ballerina, at 12 she danced in 'Nutcracker', but she resigned from a ballet school because of serious health problems.
She debuted on West End in 1971, in film in 1973 ( O Lucky Man!), she was also a member of the dance troupe called Pan's People which appeared on Top Of The Pops. In the 80s she was a real star, one of the leading musical female theatre performers in London, She was Evita and Marilyn Monroe. And what a beautiful voice she had, I've heard this song many, many times but only Stephanie Lawrence performance always, and I repeat always, brings tears to my eyes..Stephanie as Evita Peron.

She was glamorous, very popular, but never truly achieved a real stardom. In 1990 Stephanie Lawrence took the role of Mrs Johnstone in 'Blood Brothers'. She played the role for 3 years and she was in the original Broadway production in 1993. She was nominated for a Tony Award for her role.
She would played the part of Mrs Johnstone on and off for next few years, also with David Cassidy in London.
She was a renowned animal lover..and someone who put her career before long term relationship. She got married in 2000, died 2 months later on November 4, 2000, just 50 years old. She suffered from exhaustion, depression and alcoholism..
