I became sure that we really needed that star, when I was in Las Vegas myself, in the early April of 2019. I heard opinions that LV is artificial, just one street and nothing more, fake glamour, gambling and drinking..but I was bewildered by this place on Earth, a city in the middle of the Mojave Desert, and what's more Nevada is the third most seismically active state in the USA. In summer it is very hot, the city is surrounded by mountain ranges on all sides, and those mountains..I left my heart there..at Red Rock Canyon, and I saw some great mountains in my life. It’s unbelievable that anyone could think about building a city in such a place. I fell in love with this city, loved the atmosphere of Las Vegas, the music was played and heard everywhere, the crowd, that excitement, such fun, a true ...Intergalactic Circus Of Wonders..

And I think that for David Cassidy being a star here, a huge Las Vegas attraction, it meant a lot for him. Because Las Vegas is, as it calls itself, The Entertainment Capital Of The World. The biggest American stars performed there, including artists important to David, stars like Frank Sinatra or Bobby Darin. And in the 90s David Cassidy became one of them, a legend of Las Vegas. Performing in EFX let him show his acting and singing skills. David Cassidy was a born entertainer, he always had the audience in the palm of his hand , from the beginning of his career to the end. Yes, David Cassidy Star is a great idea and I think he would have been glad because of it too..

The Las Vegas Walk Of Stars started in October 2004 to honor the people who helped make Vegas famous.The stars are located along a 4-mile stretch on both sides of Las Vegas Blvd. Among honorees are Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Bobby Darin, Emilio & Gloria Estefan, Trini Lopez, Frankie Valli and Donny & Marie Osmond. Very good company and David Cassidy should be among them.
The funds for his star have been raised but the ceremony and installation of David’s star planned for April 2020 ( on his birthday) didn’t take place. But fans didn’t give up. In February a FB group called David Cassidy’s Official Las Vegas Ceremony was established and on April 1st it was announced that the Ceremony will take place on April 12th, 2022.
Fans can find on that page all info regarding that event. The administrators of the group, Lynne Frasche and Carolyn Boyer- Schiavo have agreed for an interview for my blog. And I'm so happy that they have answered my questions
Q : When and what was the purpose of setting up the group DC’s Official Star Ceremony?
A :Carolyn and I were a part of David’s Star from it’s early days. Unfortunately do to personal issues of head chair, lack of legal contracts signed by headchair, who claimed to have 40 years business experience, as well as unapproved actions sanctioned by headchair in charge of entire project, vote was taken by Las Vegas Walk Of Stars Board Of Directors, to remove the head chair, who was in charge of ALL decisions solely pertaining to David’s Star at that time.. David’s Star needed new guidance and direction. That’s where we were offered the position, and sent brand new contracts to sign. The new team was formed as all having equal status in the project, not just one, and our journey began, with David front and center!
We are called David Cassidy’s Official Las Vegas Star.
Q : Where exactly will the DC star be located, or we don’t know it yet?
A : David’s Star will be placed outside of the Paris Hotel and Casino.
Q : What will the star look like? The size, colour, what would be written on it?
A: All the star monuments are a 3 foot square of polished granite. Gray granite surrounds a light shade of a muted pink star, surrounded by gold piping. Really quite stunning! Unbeknownst to us, the actual granite star has not been produced yet, as we were incorrectly informed, so we are in the designing process as we speak. A surprise element to it to be seen at the unveiling!
Q: Do we know at what time the ceremony will start? What will it consist of and how long will it last?
A: There will be a few events surrounding the ceremony. Sunday, April 10th we will be having a special fan appreciation night in a private room at Bally’s our host hotel. Cash bar, light food, silent auction to benefit I Think I Love You Animal Foundation, as well as the local animal shelter City Of Henderson Animal Control.Some guest speakers will be in attendance, along with any books or CD’s they wish to sell. .Small entry fee of $35 per person to pay for room expenses.
The actual ceremony is Tuesday, April 12th. The day will begin at 12:30PM - 2:00PM at The Paris Hotel and Casino was a glamorous Red Carpet Event with cash bar and band. Immediately following the Red Carpet Event will be the Induction Ceremony for David at 3:00PM to finish, and to be held outdoors.
Q: Will the ceremony be free?
A:These are open to the public and FREE to attend, unlike previously from old Star.
Q:I know that Bally’s Hotel & Casino is our host hotel. Why this hotel and what fans can count on for this hotel.
A Bally’s Hotel and Casino is a mid-priced hotel that has been recently renovated. New and updated rooms! There is an indoor walkway connecting it to The Paris Hotel and Casino. Very convenient. Unlike before, we want ALL fans to be able to attend, and not be excluded because of overpriced rooms. We have struck an amazing deal with the hotel for a block of rooms that can’t be beat anywhere. It’s about helping the fans.Of course, those that prefer to stay elsewhere may do so.
Q : During the event there will be very special guest speakers. Already the list is very impressive. Can you tell me who so far wants to be with fans and share their personal memories with us ?
A: What a line-up we have so far! We are very excited to have everyone on board who has donated their time to talk about David, and make it all about him, on this special day! Here’s the list so far! In no particular order:

Q: Are you thinking about inviting someone from DC’s family?
A :We have sent Priority Mail invites to all of David’s immediate family. Unfortunately, no confirmed responses.
Q : Fans can order really interesting and beautiful merchandise created because of that event. What can they get and how, and what will the money be spent on?
A: Thanks for mentioning that Weronika! Yes, we have been working with a small design company called Bonfire, which prides itself on quality items. We would rather make less on any profits, and have superior products, unlike previously.

All profits from sold items will be going towards fan night, event programs, goodie bags, and any extras needed for the event. Professional video, etc.
Q: Beside the ceremony itself other events are prepared for fans during the days leading up to the event. Can you tell us something more?
A: Yes! We plan on having a birthday dinner celebration after the induction ceremony at Battista’s Italian Restaurant. A short 3 minute walk from Bally’s. 6PM to 8PM in a banquet style room.Very reasonable prices, and dinner includes soup, salad, entree and free glass of wine. There is also a full cash bar. We will supply the birthday cake for all to enjoy from a local bakery! Each guest is responsible for his or her own check. Unlike before, no one is to be excluded because of price. Each meal should run $30 a piece.
Q: How many days are planned for all those events? What will be the best day to arrive? It’s very important especially for non-American fans.
A: I would plan on at least 5 days. Saturday April 9th through Wednesday April 13th. Some of us will be attending the Donny Osmond show at Harrah’s on Wednesday night.
Q : Is it possible to estimate how many fans will come?
A: With the way rooms have been selling, we can estimate right now to have close to 130 people, with more to commit after the holiday season I’m sure.
Q What would you say to those who hesitate to come?
A: Please don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. The fans never got any closure after his death in 2017, and this is a way to all unite to honor David. The man who brought us together from all over the world. On a side note, I would like to mention that we strongly believe this event is ONLY about David. It’s his day. Not a day for others to acknowledge anything other than that. Period! It’s the fans that donated to make this possible for him. No one else.
Q: And what about fans who will not be able to come, there could be many reasons of course.Have you considered doing a video from the event or sth?
We’d love nothing better than to have the entire event video taped. These things are all extra expenses that cost money. All fans need to donate to our GFM, whether you can attend or not, to ensure that we can preserve this on video for all to enjoy. We have already secured a professional photographer for photos.
