An interesting episode, computers and credit accounts in 1973, not  in my part of the world at the time..And great Alan Oppenheimer, a true tv legend, born 1930, he still works as a voice actor. Appeared with very young David on Ironside..in 1969. But today's blog is not about TPF..it's about..a non-existent musical.

There was one moment while I was listening to Louise Poynton's conversation with Nina Myskow, when I stopped listening to and went for a long walk ( I live very close to the forest). Why there is a musical about 'Jackie' but not about David Cassidy.. Just watch those 2 videos...

Amazing.. and it was quite a hit. Of course there is one play inspired by DC, wrote in 2010 by Lucie Fitchett and Victoria Willing, friends since the 70s, both of them loved David, they are true theatre pro, directors, producers, playwriters and actresses. Victoria Willing is a quite known movie and tv actress. Their play called 'Could It Be Forever?' had a premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with great reviews. David Cassidy wrote to them himself saying that it was a honour for him  to be the subject of a theatre production..Of course Louise Poynton's talked with Lucie and Victoria  too..And it was a great conversation . Just a fragment

"Having a relationship with DC from a distance'..yes. Now after 10 years (even more) they want to rewrite their play. Are there any diffrences between fans in their 50s and fans in their 60s ?..What being a fan means now when he is not here any longer ? How the DC experience has change our lives ?  Those questions are very important for me too . And so true what they said that without Internet, being a DC fan, loving him in the 70s was a truly magical experience and a lot of imagination was involved in it. Fans had to wait for his pics, info, a new TPF episode,a new song, an album. David wasn't at hand for a single click on the keyboard. There was a lot of waiting, uncertainty, longing, desire..he was a true teenage dream.Very close and own, as he was called in the press Darling David, but at the same time completely unavailable.

But during that walk I wasn't thinking about a play inspired by an experience of being a DC fan. I was thinking about a musical called 'David'. Can you imagine..that would be even better than a movie. There is a magical element in a musical, it doesn't have to be as literal like a film. And  I think that fans wouldn't like a truthful DC biopic..But a musical, that's quite a different story..I've even had some ideas (it was a long walk)..And David performed in musicals himself..

Any Dream Will Do..
