We too..We know, and we knew this from the start. So difficult to explain to strangers, not fans. 'Why do you write about David Cassidy? He was just a pretty boy, a singer, famous only for a while. A teen idol..Why?'. Sometimes I say - 'It's just a hobby. People have strangest hobbies than mine'. But this is not just a hobby. Why we still care..because we do. With each year there are less David's fans, for many different reasons, but there are still quite a lot of us all over the world.

Of course it's also a generation thing. David was our own idol and we were teens in the 70s. We aged with him. Some of us became wives, husbands, parents, grandparents, widowers or divorcees..We've faced all those problems which life brings, no matter if you are poor, rich, beautiful or ugly, a librarian or a teen idol.. old age will get everyone. How  difficult it must have been for him, once so beautiful and famous.

I've got today an email from my friend, Sharron Liddle  She's written : 'David left an imprint on our hearts that is a permanent marker, a guide and compass in our future lives.' Yes, so true. We believe him. Because he was always himself , he didn't pretend, he was true to his words. It doesn't mean DC was a superhuman..on the contrary, he didn't hide his problems or his weaknesses. We felt for him, witnessed his struggles.

Sharron : 'Our love and devotion to David legacy will continue as strong as ever never losing sight of what David meant to us all, helping us through times of need and happiness in our lives when there was sadness.

This united David Cassidy togetherness has brought so many blessings, good deeds to charities ans still brings light into people's lives. All done with David at the Heart of it..'

    Happy New Year Weronika, never tire of writing about David. I believe that whoever is a fan is forever to a greater or lesser extent, if we are less and less, it will be because we will all go with him, little by little, it is the law of life. We would have to get the new generations to know the art of David, it is difficult, but I know that there are young people committed to maintaining his legacy.

      Happy New Year Encarni, big hug. I know some fans who's forgotten David.They got rid of his albums, memorabilia, and they don't want to talk about him anymore.'We should live in present and it was so many years ago'. But of course you are right, once a fan always a fan. So beautifully written and so true - 'we will all go with him little by little'..Yes, I think that DC wouldn't be popular on global scale again, but there will always be people listening to his music, he was a great singer. We will be fans to the end so grateful for everything.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
