Thanks to Encarni I've seen that video today ( for the first time )..

And of course I knew that Steve and Jeff McDonald who took part in 'The Spirit of '76' movie were from a  popular Californian band called Redd Cross, but I had no idea what kind of a band it really was ( and still is). It's truly a cult band, the brothers started playing punk in the late 70s ( being 11 and 15 years old).. they influenced many, but never achieved a great mainstream success. Just have a look at that video, it seems they always just played what they wanted ..and at the end of it they talked about one of their fav albums..The Partridge Family's 'Sound Magazine'..

'The Spirit of '76'. Released in 1990, sci fiction comedy starring David Cassidy, Olivia d'Abo, Leif Garrett, Geoff Hoyle, Redd Cross' Jeff and Steve, and members of another cult American group Devo, and Rob Reiner and Carl Reiner ..I love reading reviews on 'The Spirit of '76', some people love it, some think it's awful, so different opinions, but each year  new reviews appear  and  after 30 years the film achieved a kind of cult status.

The film was released in limited number of theaters in October 1990, and the total box office gross was $ 52, 100..Later it was released on VHS and DVD. Very mixed reviews : 'Cassidy deserves credit for unyielding professionalism. You have to wonder how this film ever got made, let alone released.' (Los Angeles Times, 1991)

Here is David Cassidy in an interview from 1990 talking about the movie, and  about what kind of films he himself liked watching..

'The gags are occasionally hit-and-miss, but the entire production is crammed with images and artifacts sure to bring a smile (or a shudder) to anyone who survived that era. Cassidy ( who must be pushing 40, but looks great) brings a good sense of humor to his role.' (Stephen Puchalski, 1994)

'This is the perfect example of an entertaining movie that was a victim of bad timing. 2 decades after his teen idol status on TPF, David Cassidy stars as a time machine inventor.' (www.schockcinemamagazine.com)

'It's silly and cheesy but remember much of the humor being spot-on. One of my fav aspects of the film are all the cameos and starring roles. (..) What fun! The soundtrack is fntastic!' ( Tom Stockman, www.wearmoviegeeks.com, 2016)

And David..he looked great like always..
