A Castle at Lake Worther, a German-Austrian tv series. There were 3 seasons, from 1990 to 1993. In the episode aired on January 27, 1993, David Cassidy played a rock star, Patrick Riley, whose career was on the rocks because of..alcohol, gambling and beautiful ladies, and Sue played  Patrick's wife, Linda. That episode was filmed in July 1992, in Velden, Austria, and DC and Sue took their young son to Europe with them.

Someone wrote in a review that the series was quite good, like  'Love Boat', but better executed. Some former known American stars appeared on it. Telly Savalas, Larry Hagman, Linda Grey and David Cassidy.

It's difficult to write anything about his performance. DC told many times that he was interested only in quality and 'no garbage for money'..  but of course he had a young family to support (and his daughter Katie), and I've seen only fragments of his episode on YT, recorded from the TV, and in German. In the video we can see David and Sue..The fan who posted it, translated the conversation so we can read it in comments.

David Cassidy in Germany. This is a very interesting topic. He was very popular there in the 70s,  readers of 'Bravo' even voted him the best singer 3 times. Tina Funk and Urda Voss were running very important DC's fan clubs , in the early 80s they went to the USA  and Canada to watch DC performing in the theatre and show him their support and love. This is an amazing short video about DC  and his fans from Europe.

But on the other hand in March 1973 two David's concerts in Germany were cancelled of poor tickets sales. In 1985 he took part in 2 or 3 German's tv programmes promoting the 'Romance' album. And interview in 1992. That's all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. That tv series was shown in my country I think in 1978, and everybody watched it, also a lot was written about the cast. So one day I read that Kay's husband was a former teen idol, David Cassidy. They Said I Changed A Lot..

Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
