Rock Me Tour 2002 Australia. Part 1

The pic - David Cassidy and his fans at  Brisbane airport, 1974..

In 2002 David Cassidy played 35 concerts in the USA, 10 in the UK and after more than 28 years he performed again in Australia (8 concerts). Those concerts promoted 'Then And Now' album. Musicians who played with David on that tour :

Lon Bronson - musical director, keyboards, road manager ; Jim McIntosh - guitar, Gary Olds - drums, Frank Fabio - bass, and Lisa Mayer and Candace Davis- Martin  (backing vocals). It was a kind of world tour which brought back a lot of memories. Everybody agreed that those concerts were exceptional. David was in great form, and they were so happy to be together again - he and his fans.

'There is not really that much difference between then and now- aside from the women's underwear. Almost 3 decades after TPF went off the air, the lust remains. DC said -' It's probably the most satisfying time of my life, I'm strapping on my guitar and feeling like I'm 19. The most amazing thing is the reaction of the audience to me and the material' (M.Zitz : 'ITILY : David Cassidy still makes women swoon', The Free-Lance Star, Virginia, October 7, 2002)

Twice in 2002 David flew to Australia...Just a few pics from 1974

In 2002, the first time he was in September (16-20). It was a promotional tour to give a press conference, interviews and appeared on tv. But we don't have many videos, instead fans wrote overviews for the DC Official Website, eg about DC on Good Morning Australia. Here is one of the interviews we have - Rove Live, September 17.

David performed in Australia from November 9 to November 21. There is not a single video of these concerts, but fans wrote reviews and shared their memories and pics with us

Some reviews appeared in the press - 'It was a night for true believers. It was a night to remember what it was like to be young again - young and silly (...) they grabbed his legs and his tights - 'Don't hold me there baby', he cautioned (..) Someone stole laces from his shoes. (..) The souvenir T-shirt read 'David Cassidy Rocked My World'. So did he? In a way. His voice might not have the same sexy quality. But listening to DC brought back every bit of that first love fantasy..' (Karen Milliner, My View, November 10, 2002)

So instead watching DC in Australia, this is 'Hush' , the Glasgow concert, the same year (April 27)

  1. thank you. Yes, we thought there was still time, or simply we had no idea about his concerts, like me in London once. I'm so grateful fans share pics and memories.
