'Hopefully I Will Be 70 and 80..'

I've wanted to write about DC's February tv appearances, those from 1970 ( Bonanza and Adam-12), and his last one ever, on CSI. That episode was aired on February 27, 2013. DC's character was murdered in a lift (in an awful way). I saw that fragment some years ago, but today I've been searching but haven't found.

Instead I've started watching that amazing interview, called 'Unscripted with David Cassidy'. I saw it some time ago, but today it has moved me..a lot. That interview is from 2008 (DC said in one place that his daughter Katie is 22), so  let's start with a song from that year, or rather a fragment from the Glasgow 2008 concert, when DC was trying to sing 'Could It Be Forever..'

Amazing..They were sooo happy together, David Cassidy and his fans..As it was still 1973.

David's TV guest appearances, there is a list of more than 600 on The DC Official Website, and all the time something new appears on YT. And there were also online interviews. And radio's. It was a very important part of his work, another acting task, very often with own scripts and rehearsals. He was interviewed by the most famous TV or radio personalities in each decade of his career. But 'Unscripted with David Cassidy', is not a traditional interview, it's a  monologue, or better say while watching it I've had a feeling like DC was talking ..to me..

Was it the real David? He was a little bit different than on the other interviews. Much more serious and I think more sincere. Did he say something new ? After all we know the story of his life by heart. When he talked about his childhood..how lonely he was. He didn't use that word 'lonely'..but when he said that his elderly grandmother had been a kind of his surrogate mother. Evelyn was away very often, working. No mum or dad on a daily basis..

He was talking about politics, and the differences between the 60s and the 70s, and that he still was hippie at heart. Yes, not only still a hippie but a boy either. Or a teen.. That after 50 he more appreciated his life and his fame ..That work was the most important and that he loved entertaining people. He smiled when he said that people were always talking about his age...When he was 20 that he'd been too young, and later that he'd looked old. But he still enjoyed performing and knew he was good at what he was doing. And in one moment he said - 'Hopefully I will be 70 and 80..'
