David Cassidy in Japan

I'm writing today's blog completely without any plan and I have no idea where it will lead me. But I always wanted to write about David Cassidy and Japan. Even if I don't know much and I hope that maybe some fans from Japan can add something.

When my sister visited me last year she noticed the photo immediately - 'Nice, David wearing yukata.'..'What?'...'a kind of summer kimono' (my sister was in Japan and even travelled there on her own). I just liked that pic and that's why I put it on my wall, but of course it'd been taken in Japan. And it's wonderful that it's not the only one. We have some those Japanese photos on the DC Website

David arrived in Japan on March 21, 1974 (from Hong Kong).Don Murfet, who was responsible for the security on the DC World Tour in 1974, wrote about that arrival in his book called  'Leave It To Me'. About 3000 fans were waiting for David, and Don was very impressed by the organization and the discipline and efficiency of the local police. There are some fragments of that book on the website, there is a link to it, but I have to warn you, that DC had  really great time in Japan. He played concerts, but also attended disco, there were parties..and some beautiful ladies who wanted to get to know him... better..that part about Japan starts from page 251, but of course everything is worth reading.

At the end of 2020 a sensational audio appeared on You Tube,  amazing quality recording from the DC concert in Tokyo on March 28th, 1974, and a lot of valuable info.

There are also part 2, 3 and 4. Each video is very carefully made, with info and memorabilia from DC's stay in Japan in March 1974. We are so grateful that we've got those very rare recordings. But it's not everything. We have sth really priceless, the DC radio interview with Reiko Yukawa for Japanese radio 'American Top 40'..Such a quality, like  it was recorded yesterday, and not 48 years ago..
