David Cassidy in Las Vegas

When I think about April 12th, 2022..so many emotions. Another David's birthday without him. He was always 12 years older than me, I was born in April too.

I'm sorry I will not be in Las Vegas on that day, I will miss that once in a lifetime opportunity to meet  other DC's fans, fantastic people with whom I write quite a lot on social media. Fellow fans.. But first of all I'm so proud we have made it. Because that STAR, it's David's and ours. Our gift for him. Our thank you for everything. Each and every fan has its share. And I mean not only money..

I was in Las Vegas in April 2019. 2 days and 2 nights. What an amazing place,  in the middle of the desert, surrounded by mountains ranges on all sides. The first day I spent hiking a little bit in Red Rock Canyon. Just breathtaking ..I love the American mountains.

And the next day I left my group because I wanted to be alone while  walking in the David Cassidy's footsteps.

I spent quite a lot of time sitting at the foot of the statue of Leo, the MGM's  lion, listening to David's  EFX songs, and thinking about his life there. Of course that was only his work's place, he lived in a residential area..he earned a lot of money in Las Vegas, but he worked extremely hard for it, and paid a price .

At the time, in 2019, I had no idea that besides EFX in MGM, and 'The Rat Pack Is Back' in The Desert Inn, Sahara Hotel&Casino, and  'At the Copa' in Rio Hotel, David Cassidy played also some concerts in Las Vegas. It would be great to have a plan/map with all those places he performed in. A kind of a guide with pics. So e.g. on June 10, 2010 DC played a concert at Silverton Casino (there are some pics on the website), on May 7 and 8, 2011 at Orleans Hotel and Showroom. In 2012 - for 3 days in summer - South Point Hotel and Casino (great pics on the website too)

In 2017 one of the last ever David's concert was played exactly in Las Vegas. On February 17, 2017 at Golden Nugget Casino. We have pics and even audio of that concert on the website.

David did a lot for Las Vegas, he should have got an own star much earlier, and not founded by the fans..But I think it's great it will be that way. 

In 2002 he even appeared in a promo film called  David Cassidy's Las Vegas

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. They Said I Changed A Lot..

Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
