I Heard You Singing Your Song / Barry Mann

'And I couldn't help but sing along'. It happens to me all the time..
This is not an entry about new or interesting info regarding DC. I haven't found any forgotten articles or unknown videos, no. But it doesn't mean that what I want to write is not important. On the contrary. David's music helped many, many fans to survive. I've read about it and I heard about it. My English friend who was bullied at school in the 70s, told me that the only happy hours she had was while listening to David's songs in her room. And of course there were thousands like her, not only in the 70s.

When I was at high school I had to learn a Robert Schumann's quote (our music teacher was very strict) - 'To send light into the darkness of men's hearts - such is the duty of the artist.'. I didn't think about it at the time, just another thing to learn, remember as long as necessary and forget. We had to learn a lot of things by heart at school. Sure I loved music when I was a teen, of course not Schumann's. Music was very important, brought joy and fun, that's all..
But after many, many years I think about Schumann's words quite often, ..how music could be the light, bring hope and heal..
