'David Sings From His Heart..'
Someone wrote this in a review about 'Didn't You Used To Be..'
Didn't you used to be a teen idol, didn't you used to be..someone else?. How I love this album, let's start with the first song from it (also because we've at last had rain at night!)

Recorded and mixed at Santa Monica Sound Recorders, April-June 1992. 30 years ago. Produced again by Eric 'E.T.' Thorngren. That great, another David's concept album, which should be treated as a whole, and listened to in the order the songs were arranged..the David's masterpiece. When it was released a lot of interviews appeared, and I love best what an anonymous fan wrote on Amazon :
'This album covers so many types of music, from the feel of soulful ballads, blues, rock and even a gospel-style tune, flawlessly moving from one to other. This is accomplished by the amazing voice of David Cassidy. His vocal range is outstanding - he can take a song of any kind as I found in this album and command it without effort. He can go from breath, earthy feel to slightly raspy to a powerfully strong voice in a heartbeat.'..Oh yes..

My friend B. has bought me 'Didn't You Used To Be..' for...very cheap, at one of the Swindon's charity shops. I took that CD home and yesterday listened to it in my car. Amazing album..Still so fresh, so powerful, so sincere. There are 10 songs on it, and 9 were co-wrote by David. This CD is so personal..but also about emotions that everyone can understand.

David Cassidy's music..
We can read in many articles that it was the soundtrack to our teenage years. But not only. He had something to tell us about every decade of his (and ours lives). While listening to that CD yesterday I thought about the title, what it meant for me. Didn't you used to be..40..lonely and unhappy, at the crossroads ? Saying good bye to one true love..Crying..
David Cassidy was a great artist and it's such a shame, a pity, that we will never know what he would sing about..now..
