I Love You Keith!

Keith Partridge? To be a teen again and have such a neighbour..Yes..I can imagine. No, not Keith P., but Keith Atack. I always had a soft spot for him. In the 70s he was a member (with his twin brother, Tim) of the British pop group Child.

Keith and Tim were born in April 1959, and the band was formed in the early 70s. In the second part of that decade they had some hits, appeared on some tv programs, also on Top Of The Pops. The music ..wasn't very good, but it was fun and they looked great and were very popular with girls. And despite being a pop band in the punk age, 'Child' was voted the second most popular UK band amongst teenage girls in a 1978 poll conducted by the magazine Fab 208

So let's have a look. Keith was playing bass, his brother Tim, drums. 'Child' and a cover of 'When You Walk In the Room'.

They even did a cover of 'I Lost My Chance', but..better not.

In 1980 it was the end of 'Child''s career, Keith and Tim went on to become session musicians, quite in demand, they toured with Rick Astley , Bonnie Tyler and first of all with David Cassidy in 1985. And they were really good and enjoyed performing together so much.

Let's watch and listen to David and his band. The Royal Albert Hall and exciting, sensational live version of 'When I'm A Rock and Roll Star' and 'Rock Me Baby'.

Keith Atack not only enjoyed so much playing with DC (and his company), but also met a love of his life during this tour. Kate Robbins. Their daughter Emily is a known actress. But first of all Keith Atack has only the best memories on working with David, many times he wrote how a great honour for him was to be on tour with DC. And now of course we have Keith's full support. Sharron got a message from him:

'I was lucky enough to play in David's U.K. band in the 80s and we became great friends. I know how much London and his British fans meant to him, to have a place in the Camden Music Walk of Fame would have meant the world to him too, he gave his whole life to music till the very end and a place to remember the contribution he made to a golden era of popular music would be a great tribute to him and his fans here in the UK.  xxx  Keith Atack'
