Then I'll Be Someone/ Tandyn Almer
'He is much thinner. The eyes though, are red..It's almost as if the eyes belonged to someone else, some alien, raw and red as a carrot..'

Great article.
Yes, DC's RCA albums are fabulous. I've thought about them after reading a comment today. A fellow fan, Lisa Bailey Owens : 'he (David) never gave himself enough credit..years of being belittled and put down by Jack'. Yes, never.
DC had problems with trusting people, dealing with rejection..He wasn't sure of himself, he wasn't sure if his work was good enough. There is one interesting thing Gerry Beckley told about recording 'Gettin' It In The Street ' : "I remember that there was a song we were going back and forth on for this album that was written by Tandyn Almer. David was fond of this song and I think we'd cut the track and Mick (Ronson) came in and said, 'What is that crap?'. Immediately it was off the album.' (David Cassidy : Could It Be Forever?, 2007)
That song was of course, 'Then I'll Be Someone'

What a shame. 2 years of such hard work, it started not so bad, 'The Higher They Climb, The Harder They Fall, got great reviews, charted in the UK (# 22 on August 9, 1975), 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' was even better, again critically well received, but the album didn't chart in any country. How is it possible? Such wonderful songs..David's voice and how he looked..

And the last one 'Gettin' It In The Street', my favourite RCA's DC album. It was shelved at the very last moment, and released on time only in Germany and Japan. In November. 1976. And in December Jack died. When DC performed in 'Police Story' a lot of interviews appeared. When he was asked what he did after 1974, he very often answered, 'Nothing'.
