I haven't planned to write anything today, too hot and I've been busy. But I've been searching for sth on the website and found that gem. David Cassidy at 'Random Play', a sketch comedy series from 1999. Two female record company executives, both of them were in love with DC in 1970s, both old Partridge Family's fans. And at one moment one adresses DC- "Keith'. 'His name is David', says the other one..This is really very funny, what a shame we don't have a better copy.

This is amazing how DC was talented. Not only he got a great voice, not only he was so beautiful..Btw do you know that last year was released a documentary called 'The Most Beautiful Boy In The World"? But it was not about DC, but about a young Swede who was in the Luciano Visconti's film 'Death in Venice'. Visconti proclaimed a 16-year old Bjorn Andresen being the most beautiful..The film premiere was in 1971 and poor Bjorn wasn't prepared becoming an international celebrity. His beauty and youthfulness were exploited. He experienced a mass hysteria, especially in Japan. Had a depression after his 9 month old son died. An actor, still active. Very long hair and beard..

It could have been such a curse when everybody is in love with you and you know that there are so much more you can give. 

So 'His name is David Cassidy. (He sings too)'. This is the title of one of the earliest articles about DC, wrote by Laudy Powell, FAVE Magazine, May 1970. The article starts with a letter : "I turned on Marcus Welby, M.D as I always do' the letter read' when of a sudden my heart started thumping wildly cause I was looking into the two most beautiful eyes in the world! They belonged to the boy who played Michael on the show..but who is HE?' The letters kept coming into Fave hundreds of them, all asking the same questions.."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. That tv series was shown in my country I think in 1978, and everybody watched it, also a lot was written about the cast. So one day I read that Kay's husband was a former teen idol, David Cassidy. Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
