'My songs they sound much better when people start to gather..'. Is this song not about David Cassidy? A lot of people noticed that he was that kind of a performer. Ray Fox-Cumming wrote in 1973 about one of his Wembley's concert : "David feeds off audience reaction and the more he got the more he gave. Little by little he seemed to grow towards living up to everything that those girls expected. Taken as a whole it (the concert) was certainly very good." (Disc and Echo Magazine)

But let's return to the song. It's David's voice and the way he sings it from the start that makes 'I Just Wanna Make You Happy' so meaningful and such a wonderful song. 'Only wanna make you happy When I sing I'll make you happy.'. So true. He really meant it..all his career. He wanted to make his fans happy and he wanted and needed to feel that love. That we loved him too..
The David Cassidy's first solo album is truly amazing. One of the best pop albums from the first part of the 70s. And it was the golden age of pop music and countless of great albums were released.
At the time DC wanted to play another music. Of course it was Wes who had the last word about everything and David didn't like some arrangements, or would have preferred them being different (eg 'My First Night Alone Without You'), but many years later he wrote how was proud of 'Cherish'. It made a charts for 23 weeks (peaked at number 15) from February 1972.

And The London Music Walk Of Fame and our PETITION. It's our common cause. DC his whole life was underestimated, he should have that stone. We are so grateful for every single signature. Slowly and clearly we are making progress. We can do it together. For David and for us.
