Oh yes, we took a good look and we knew he wasn't a circus clown.
David was smiling singing this song. Of course Keith smiled a lot on stage, but this time it was David performing, rather than Keith (you know what I mean), and he was soo happy. His own song, without the Wes's name in credits. At least that one time.
Time..he was only 22 (that episode was aired in March 1973. He had a whole life ahead of him. He was young, beautiful, rich and famous. We don't think about time when we are young or that one day we will be..old. Science fiction. But that song was recorded more that 48 years ago and today I've been thinking about TIME a lot. Since I've read that yesterday Michael Barratt died. He was 94.
A lot of tributes, obituaries.. everywhere. He started his career very early, as a tea boy and horoscope writer on Sunday Mail. Best known as a main presenter on Nationwide from 1969 to 1977. For us, the David Cassidy's fans, the man who interviewed David in February 1972. The first DC's tv interview in the UK. 21 year old superstar, a beautiful American boy who for a second didn't forget about the responsibility and his image, and very experienced 44 year old journalist, who usually interviewed politicians, not teen idols..

They talked once again, in May 1974, in different circumstances. David, older and much more sure of himself, a huge star in the UK, just before his last the World Tour's concerts, so eloquent, explaining why he wanted to resign. This time Michael Barratt knew perfectly well who his interlocutor was..and I think he really liked him and was intrigued.
