Time And Time Again..

'..and this boy's lost track..'. Like all of us I return to that song from..time to time. So important, for David and his fans. A testament of a friendship, wrote by David, Kim and Dave, 49 years ago. No one knew in 1973 that 'Can't Go Home Again' after years would take on such meaning. I love live version from the World Tour, Australia 1974. A young boy singing, happy to share his music with his fans.

And I've been thinking a lot about the 70s and about time today. 7 months of 2022 gone forever, days are already shorter and there are some unfinished projects we've been working on (with Jane, our webmaster) for such a long time. The Partridge Family's synopses, still 15 episodes left, and we started that project 13 months ago. And some other things waiting to work on  and to be published.

And of course The London Music Walk Of Fame. 923 signatures. What can be done more ?? David deserves that Stone, that recognition. 'tell me you love me, make me real..'

And it's happened that today my older daughter has invited me to the cinema. Life has been hard for me recently and she said that I really needed some fun, something simple, nothing complicated. The new Minions film. A lot of kids with their parents, just mountains of popcorn..We laughed at different moments then those children. Btw I don't think the kids laughed as much as me, and some of them were rather scared.

Anyway the film takes place in 1976. Wow! Fashion, cars, vinyl records, old phones..that was fun. And the soundtrack. Various contemporary artists covering the 70s hits - 'You're No Good', 'Funkytown', 'Black Magic Woman', 'Goodbye to Love', 'Fly Like An Eagle' to name a few. Not bad, but of course those kids (and their parents) don't know the originals. I was sorry for Steve Miller.. what they've done to his classic.

When my daughter asked me if I liked it, I said : 'Yes, of course. The 70s are so popular again..but..'. 'No David'...'Exactly. No David. Of course he didn't have any hits in 1976'.

But maybe it's better. 'C'mon Get Happy' was sung by The Ant Man, it wasn't bad because it was karaoke, so we could actually hear David in that film, but 'I Think I Love You'  in 'The Croods 2' was a cover and better don't listen to it.
