Shirley's children obviously had different fathers, but they were a great family. It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Keith, Laurie or Danny. And Tracy. And even Chris, although there were two of them. But someone else could have been Danny.

Danny Bonaduce : 'They had two Partridge families at the end, and we shot two shows. Shirley was the Mom in each. David, Susan and the other kids were all in one family and I was in the other family with the bunch of other kids. The other family got the job. But Jerry (Paris, director of PF pilot) went to an editing booth and edited me into a scene with Reuben that I was never in. So I'm talking back and forth with Dave Madden and it never really happened. He showed the producers, they hired me on the spot, and we shot the third show and I got the job.'

This is really a must read, something absolutely extraordinary, so sincere and honest and different. I mean you can learn a few  things that others have not said. Also about David. Keith and Danny..that chemistry and that excellent comedy timing..David and Danny, a fascinating story to the end. Of course they weren't buddies at the beginning, it would have been really strange, David was a young adult, Danny was just a kid. David Cassidy : 'Danny was really starved for love. He needed a role model.(..) He started looking up to me, imitating my mannerisms. He also started having problems socialising with other kids.(..) I saw him acting out his need for love. He started smoking at 11 or 12, hanging around with all these misfits. I saw a little of myself in him..' (David Cassidy : Could It Be Forever?, 2007)

We all know what was later. That friendship..had ups and downs I think, I don't know of course, I can only imagine, both of them being complex men, showbusiness people. It's not important now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. They Said I Changed A Lot..

Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
