David in... August

Saratoga Springs..Tomorrow there is 5th David Cassidy Annual Celebration of a Triple Crown Life. Concerts and speeches and fundrising. For the fifth time. David's day at Saratoga Springs. He would have been happy, I'm sure.
Saratoga Springs, New York, the population a little bit below 30 000. It's home to National Museum and Hall of Fame, and Saratoga Race Course, a thoroughbred horse racing track, opened in August 1863.

'This is my favourite place in the world. I played here in 1972, '73 and '74'. He wasn't good with dates, our DC. Of course he didn't play concerts in the USA in 1973 and 1974. And the first time David Cassidy performed there, at Saratoga Performing Center was on June 27th, 1971. A year later, in 1972 he had a concert again, on August 2nd. We don't have any video or audio or even a set list, so let's watch a short video from June the same year

But even that David Cassidy didn't play concerts, he was there in 1973 and 1974 and every other August of his life. In 1974 he bought his first yearling at the sales at Saratoga Springs. He met his second wife in Saratoga, his horses took part in many races here and sometimes won, David himself took part in many important galas and made some memorable speeches. A Day at the Races was held at Saratoga Race Track on August 12, 2000 and many, many other events. But first of all DC was happy in Saratoga Springs. That was truly his place on Earth. He was the part of that community, he felt there free, happy and safe..

Of course a lot of times he was working in August. In 1979 he starred as Sgt. Bill Page in 'Voice of the Turtle', in 1984 in August he played Jesus in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in Kansas City, he played as Little Johnny Jones, Joseph, Chris and Mickey. He performed in EFX. He played concerts..David Cassidy all his life worked very, very hard.

I'm so happy that more than 1000 fans have signed the petition for Music Walk of Fame Artist Stone Honour for David Cassidy. Of course we need more and now we are much more optimistic. I wonder what David would have said if he'd known about it..
