'A New David Cassidy..'

We have been reading something like that since..truly speaking since DC resigned from his teen idol status in 1974. Of course, we fans know it's impossible. There was only one David Cassidy and not just because how he looked...

Perfection, everything about him, his beauty and sex-appeal. His charm and his style. There was also DC a very complex man and first of all David Cassidy a great, underrated singer. But when someone writes - 'Such and such is a new DC' - that person thinks about David as he was 50 years ago, a worshipped teen idol.

A lot was written about Zac Efron being a new DC, when he was on High School Musical. Born in 1987, he started his career in a musical theatre, later was tv, and the turning point of his career of course High SM, premiered on the Disney Channel in January 2006. David was asked many times what he'd thought about the young actor.

Zac Efron can sing, but he is primary an actor who still fight his pretty boy's image. I know nothing about his career, but I've seen him playing a serial killer Ted Bundy, and he was very good, really scared me.

And today I've read The Times' article. Wrote just 2 days ago by a known music critic, Will Hodgkinson, about Mercury Awards 2022. According to him only one musician could be a winner -'..Really he's the new David Cassidy : pretty, unthreatening, charming, likes to divert into acting.' Harry Styles, who's album 'Harry's House' is this year number one everywhere, all over the world..

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
