One of my favourite. So very uplifiting, performed and sung with such a bravado, I can bet they had a lot of fun recording it, those wonderful experienced musicians : Dennis Budimir, Louie Shelton, Tommy Tedesco, Joe Osborn, Max Bennett, Larry Knechtel, Mike Melvoin, Hal Blaine and that 20 year old boy, for the first time in the recording studio, David Cassidy. This song was recorded on the same day as "I Think I Love You'. On May 16 th, 1970. 

DC : ' I was nervous. I didn't want to screw up or cause problems for all these pros who had no idea who I was. We'd be chatting and I'd hear some voice on the loudspeaker saying, 'Could you please ask the singer, whatever his name is, to shut up?' Or we'd start to do a take and some voice would request, 'Can you ask the singer not to slow down?', or 'Can you ask the singer not to rush?' I was totally overwhelmed by the experience." Wonderful video. Claire Wilcox' beautiful smile. Born in 1955 in Canada, she debuted in 1961, appeared on many famous tv series, and twice on TPF. First as Cathy so smitten with Keith, and later as Cindy, in 'Whatever Happened to Keith Partridge', in 1972. But it was her last ever credit, and she disappeared.. Lane Bradbury who was the Keith's love interest on 'Love At First Slight' was already a known and experienced actress. She was 32..

And in a way that episode was so prophetic, because for the next 4 years young girls were chasing David Cassidy, a lot  followed him wherever he went, and DC himself..dated older girls, those not so ..smitten.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. They Said I Changed A Lot..

Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
