'What Are You Doin' Tonight?'

This is the last sentence from the article I want to write about today, but first our petition, The London Music Walk Of Fame.

We are not doing very well recently, 1126 signatures, and it's going painfully slow, and I haven't wanted to write about it..but. Some days ago Jane has published on the website my new TPF's synopsis with some screenshots, and it's got more than 2,5k likes..Wow! And a lot of comments, rather typical, 'he was all over my wall' or 'the most gorgeous man ever', you know. How to make those fans sign the petition ? DC wasn't just a pretty face, he wasn't Keith Partridge. And btw The Wings Of Pegasus, 'Was David Cassidy One Of The Most Misunderstood Music Artists?' video has more than 62 000 views.. Nearly 1k comments. Just amazing.

So 'What are you doin' tonight?'...

For some time I've been doing a daily (if I manage) column for The David Cassidy Legacy Great Britain Group (I'm a proud member of it). At first it was called 'The Daily Quote From David' and later was changed to 'The Daily Quote About David'. There is always a fragment and a link to an article, they are mostly from the DC Official Website.

From the start I've wanted those fragments to be rather..how to put it..uplifting, we need that 'love and light' and the DC's smile. Nothing controversial. But there are quite a lot of not so flattering articles about David we can find on the website. And it's great. Everything should be published. No censorship, never. Of course some reviews are very unjust, there were people, music critics, who just couldn't stand David, and I don't want to write about them. But there are also some articles, very interesting, which show DC and his teen idol phenomenon in different light (so to speak). Maybe a break. It should have been me of course..

This article, including a very unusual interview with David Cassidy, was first published on New Musical Express Magazine, on June 8th, 1974. The title ; 'Terminal Fandom', the author - Chrissie Hynde. Yes, Chrissie Hynde, the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of The Pretenders. She was born in Ohio in September 1951, but moved to England in 1973, and she wrote for NME for some time. And she wrote about David in London in May 1974. About the White City concert, his fans and about her conversation with him..I really would like to know if she'd asked that question (and what was David's answer)..Here is the link to that article. It's really worth reading.
