The Man Is A Legend..
I was to write something else yesterday, an entry called, 'The Sound Of The Partridge Family', John Bähler had a birthday, He was born in 1940, a singer, arranger, conductor, composer and producer. The elder brother of Tom. They are two of the most recorded singers in history. It's a shame that so much of their work are not credited. They sang on hundreds of tv show themes, movie soundtracks, commercial jingles, and many songs as back and lead singers.
In the 60 they had their own band, and they recorded this hit which later was re-recorded for The Partridge Family.

There is an amazing, very interesting interview on www.cmongethappy.com. Tom Bahler in conversation with Scott Awley. How happened that they were hired to be at first..The Partridge Family and got royalties as a group. What they thought when Wes Farrell became a musical director and an unknown kid a lead singer. How the songs were recorded. This is a fascinating read, not only because of The Partridge Family.

But yesterday instead writing it, I found at last time to watch the new (from September 1990, but a new one for us), interview with DC for MuchMusic, the Canadian MTV. Another tv appearance from that extremely demanding for David year. Now we have 39 such tv programmes from 1990 listed on the website.
DC looked ..gorgeous of course, again his hair was very long, for the last time in his life, a rock singer image, But I think he looked better a year or two later with shorter hair. I also think he was very tired. It was wonderful to hear his incredible laugh, but maybe because of tiredness or because he answered the same questions so many times..I don't know but I have an impression he talked too much and too fast and didn't feel completely at ease on that program. The young people treated him with sympathy, attention. they watched The Partridge Family as kids. One said ,'The man is a legend. The tv show, a classic..'.

Hi Weronika, thank you so much for sharing this! This is so interesting about John and Tom Bahler (I also find it so great when siblings work together so well, and for so long), and all of the commercials and everything they did! We have probably seen a lot of commercials, etc. that they did, and we didn't even know it! I have heard of The Love Generation, but I never knew that it was a singing group. I really love "Let the Good Times In"! I never knew that they sang it before the Partridge Family, and I am so happy that the Partridge Family sang it on their very first episode, my favorite episode! Thank you so very much again for such a great blog!
