Susan Dey..on the LA Law Reunion

I've thought I would not write about Susan Dey's birthday. She will be 70 on December 10.

We know everything, but on the other hand nothing about her, she is a very private person. But of course we love writing about Susan and David. They were so beautiful and there was such chemistry between them on the set of TPF. The way they looked at each other. After all these years they became a truly iconic, romantic couple from the 70s, there are still quite a lot of articles about..you know. But of course this is not our business. Only Susan and David knew how it really was.

Her mother died when Susan was eight, she started her career as a model in the late 60s, and she became a role model for many teenage girls. She looked so gorgeous, and e.g. wasn't afraid to take part in one of the first campaign encouraging girls to use tampons. The campaign was also educational,  called 'Getting To Know Yourself'.

Laurie Partridge, she was Susan's alter ego. No character in the show has changed as much as Laurie. But from the beginning she was always ready to fight for a good cause. It's fascinating to watch how  Susan Dey kept changing on the set, at first Laurie is just a younger sister, Keith feels so responsible for her, but later we can see different Laurie, strong and independent, ready to confront her older brother, and it's usually Keith who loses. We also know about her anorexia, she was painfully thin on the Season 2, in 1971.

Her acting career..I think she was great as Jo March, in the tv adaptation of 'Little Women' from 1978. With Meredith Baxter Birney as Meg..She retired in 2004. Susan Dey serves as a board member of the Rape Treatment Center at UCLA Medical Center.

So why I have changed my mind? Because I've learnt that 2 years ago Susan Dey took part in online LA Law Reunion. It was during pandemic, and it was to gather money for people in need, for Actors Fund, the money wasn't just for actors, so that was the main reason Susan took part in it.

The reunion is rather long and I've watched only fragments of it, because I didn't watch LA Law when it was on our TV. What can I say..Susan looked great and she was obviously very happy to meet with the members of the cast. To meet with her friends...
