It Should Have Been Me / William Stevenson, Norman Withfield
The David's version from 1979 is really one in a kind. Such longing, passion, love, desire..His voice rich, seductive, soulful. I've been listening to this song many times on the beach while on holiday.
But always first moved away from other holidaymakers. The dreamy look on my face..of course, it should have been me..

This is so extraordinary, it should have been a great hit. And very interesting comment has appeared since the last time I've watched/listened to that song on YT. That John Beland, a very known LA musician, who worked with Glenn Frey, Linda Ronstadt, with everybody, he also worked with David, on 'Dirty Work', another cover (Steely Dan), recorded by DC in 1979. At Larrabee Studios in Hollywood. Timothy B. Schmit played bass and did the harmonies. Carlos Vega played drums. Produced by Ken Mansfield of course.

Amazing how all the time new info appears and we learn something more. And it was while listening to the songs from that wonderful album, that suddenly I had an idea..Sometimes I wish I didn't have them, those ideas, because I still have a lot of work with the book, want to make some changes and edit it once more, and I really have to think seriously about publishing it. And I've promised to write a short story about DC.
One more song. Another favourite, and I'm so grateful that Athena Camberos published them without pics, just wonderful, great quality recordings.

So the idea. The DC Encyclopedia, or better - name index, with the people who worked with him. There were so many, the most famous musicians who played with or for David Cassidy, and they all have said the same. The same as John Beland. That David Cassidy was a very talented guy and a joy to work with..
