Morning Rider On The Road / Tony Romeo
The credit should have been plural. Tony Romeo and David Cassidy, because without DC's voice and his interpretation, the song wouldn't be so special.
At the beginning he is resigned, just telling us a story of his heartbreak, and him being always on the road in search for happiness or at least satisfaction, and.."All at once I met you and you stop me in my tracks', and we can hear and feel his joy..
Tony Romeo found just a perfect singer for his love songs. And I've found this very moving video.

Of course I've written about this song many times, as the readers of my blog know I'm a little obsessed with Tony Romeo, he was such an underrated songwriter and record producer. It's difficult to find more info, so I've been very happy when recently Eamon Cataquiz (on TPF Group) wrote about 'The Trout', and its album released in 1968. The group members were Cassandra Morgan, Frank Romeo and his brother Tony. Produced by..Wes Farrell of course. Tony sang leading vocals on this number. And we can see him in that picture.

Maybe it's the weather, which is hot, stuffy and tiring, and makes me complaining about everything, or the time of the year, but I have the impression that there are fewer of us, David's fans, and with each day David Cassidy and his times are fading into the past. All the time we lose someone who worked or knew him. Soon will be another 21st, that's the way it is and nothing can be done.

We will always remember and never give up. Let him shine..
