Rosa's Cantina / David Cassidy, Bryan Garofalo
This fabulous song was written by David Cassidy and Bryan Garofalo, a very talented guitarist and bassist from Canada. A session musician who later worked with some good David's friends, the boys from 'America', and..Kim Carnes.
Wonderful music, makes you want to get up and dance, brilliant lyrics. David Cassidy was a very good lyricist himself, he didn't need many words to convey the mood, create an image. He learnt from the best. I think it was DC who wrote the lyrics of that wonderful song, a very good one for today.

Amazing, you can just imagine those young guys, in 1976, working together at Caribou Ranch and having fun. They were young, very attractive and famous. They were friends.
And today is The International Day Of Friendship. Truly speaking I'm not a fan of those special days, every day there is something, more or less important. When I was a kid we had to celebrate for example the anniversary of the Soviet Revolution and the like, there were academies in honor and everybody had to take part. Or the day of the Polish-Russian Friendship..I hated those days. Poland has been an independent country for 34 years, but somehow I still don't like any celebrations. Special days.
However, The International Day Of Friendship is a perfect day to remember David (we remember him every day of course), and his legacy.
David sang backing vocals on this song, recorded in 1978 by his (at the time) very good friend, Richie Furay. The title, 'Your Friends'. I love this song, it makes me feel so good, and I love to sing along with them..Richie and David and their friends..

This is such an important part of his legacy. Our friendship. It's not just virtual, we really care, when we can, we meet in person, we are a kind of support group, and as Carolyn Boyer-Schiavo has written today, " Love my all around the world friends! Would have never crossed paths if not for David! It's a beautiful thing!"
So true. Thank you David xxx
