I have watched this video many times and each time I'm so impressed and so emotional. What an amazing performer David Cassidy was. And his voice..

Yesterday a fan posted a pic from the page of The Children's Country House at Sudbury NT (National Trust). Sudbury Hall is a 17th country house in Derbyshire. On the pic we can see a showcase with some building blocks and..David Cassidy Annual 1975. And it was written, "If you didn't go weak at the knees for Donny Osmond, chances were you swooned over David Cassidy! Look out for this book in the Toys Gallery." 

It was posted on April 12, 2011, and the House since then has been renovated and was opened again in 2022, the museum is very modern now and, "celebrates the history of childhood". I don't know if David Cassidy Annual 1975 is still there...

David Cassidy at a children's museum..Of course it shows how he was important for the whole generation in the UK, girls and boys born in the late 50s and early 60s of the last century. He was a houshold name, in 1973 it was enough to write even in national press just his first name and everybody knew what the article was about. 

I'm sure David Cassidy is more remembered in the UK than in his native country. And what's more Shaun is better remembered than him in America. There is a Billboard chart with the most popular holiday songs ever, and 'Da Doo Ran Ran' is still on the list. 

When I applied for an American visa in 2018 (we don't need them now thanks to the previous American president), I had to meet with a consul at the American embassy in Warsaw. When he asked me why I wanted to go to the USA, I answered, "Because of David Cassidy". The look on his face, he was so surprised, but tried..

"Cassidy..Cassidy..I know!! Shaun!'
"No, the other one.'
"The other one?"
"David"
"David..David..Aaaaa.. The Partridge Family. I used to watch it..but I was a small kid!"

This time I was surprised. He looked so old. But he was right, it was many years ago and .."there is nothin' any man can do" about it..

  I learnt yesterday that Robyn Millan died last year. Someone published a post about the TPF's episode where she'd appeared as a guest star, 'Dora, Dora, Dora', Season 2 episode 1, aired 50 years ago, on September 17, 1971..And there was a comment about that episode that the script was poorly written, sexist etc. Maybe, no one would dare write something like that now, but the world looked different half a century ago..And I really felt sad yesterday because of Robyn. It's from Kevin Fallon's article published on www.thedailybeast.com on November  22, 2017.  Maybe it's not the smartest thing to do, but the newest article about David Cassidy on Record Collector Magazine, and first of all different pointsview of it, made me have a look on some articles published after this horrible day,  November 21, 2017. But first a song. We experience another heat wave here in Poland, I haven't seen a rain in many days, which is scary, so maybe a song about a rainy day. We Gotta Get Out Of This Place / Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil

From 'Notebook' album, released in November 1972, by Bell Records. The song was first recorded as demo by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil themselves, but of course it's a big The Animals' hit from 1965. It became # 2 in the UK (behind The Beatles' 'Help'), and number 13 on the U.S. Hot Billboard 100 chart. An iconic song, it's on The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll's list. I think that there are songs which shouldn't be covered. They belong to the time in which they were created. 'We Gotta Get Out Of This Place' is one of them. In the 60s it became very popular  at high school proms and graduation parties. And maybe it was David himself who actually wanted to record it in 1972. He remembered the song from his high school years and he loved The Animals. And of course he was overworked..   The song became even more popular with United States Armed Forces members stacioned in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
