Warm My Soul / Joerey Ortiz

'Warm My Soul' was written by a teenager, Joerey Ortiz. In the early 70s David Cassidy twice recorded that song. A song about passion, desire, but somehow very suitable for today's blog.

"Shake the pain that grows inside me..."

The next anniversary will be soon. 6 years. That's a lot of time. What we, David's fans, have managed to do at this time, what goals we achieved. And what went wrong..Actually quite a lot, but maybe better focus on positives, and of course we still will be working to keep David Cassidy's legacy alive.

I'm so glad that again we have started promoting the petition to Music Walk Of Fame in London. A stone for David.  Please sign if you haven't done it yet.

DC was always 12 years older than me, and now that gap has halved. It's made me think about David Cassidy at 61, my age now. What he was like in 2011..The previous year, 2010, didn't end well for him, on November 3 he was arrested in Florida on suspicion of DUI.

He agreed to take part in a reality show, The Celebrity Apprentice. It was a big surprise, because David told many times he never couldn't imagine himself competing with other artists, celebrities on this kind of shows. He agreed to do it first of all because of the chance to support the charity of his choice with a really big money. David chose one related to Alzheimer and dementia, because his mother, Evelyn, once so beautiful and full of life, suffered severe dementia.

He played 23 concerts in the USA in 2011. Among them 3 with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra. He talked about those concerts in the interview from February 11th. And also about his parents and his children, how proud he was of Beau and Katie. He couldn't say that he was the first who was fired from the reality show, the episode with him was recorded in October 2010 and aired at the beginning of March 2011.

He looked tired, sometimes even confused and vulnerable, older, but his smile was still a killer.

David had another eye operation that year. His marriage was a fiction and he also had very serious financial problems. Maybe it was a reason that in October 2011 he sued Sony for The Partridge Family merchandise. He was only paid $5000 for all the things sold with his name and likeness. His case had wide publicity, and he gave a lot of interviews for press and TV. Some of them were very emotional

It was a difficult year, still he played great concerts, and one of the most memorable was a birthday one at The Superstar Theater in Atlantic City on April 9, 2011. A huge birthday cake for David was brought on stage. There was also his son Beau with his band and Danny Bonaduce. After 40 years Danny learned how to play bass, and to the great joy of the audience, together with David they performed "Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted'..

He looked so happy on stage..
