' In the Words of David Cassidy..'
'Four Weddings and a Funeral' will be today evening on our TV. I'm not going to watch it, once is enough, and like millions all over the world, I saw it in 1994. At the time I worked as a teacher and my high school class wanted to see it, and I remember we talked about it later. Mostly about differences between Poland and the UK. My country was still very poor. About that deaf brother..We also talked about sex a little bit. But we didn't discuss that scene, no one of my students ever heard about David Cassidy, Partridge Family or 'I Think I Love You'. They were 18 years old..The 70s were prehistory for them..

152k views. Only that scene..Not bad. A low budget film, made in 6 weeks, became unexpected success everywhere, earned mountains of money and made Hugh Grant an international star. The script was written by Richard Curtis (born in 1956), whose partner (wife since 2002), Emma Freud (Sigmund is her great-grandfather) is a known broadcaster and journalist. And a die hard David Cassidy fan. In 2012 she wrote about her love for David herself.

What a story. David Cassidy had and has a lot of famous fans, it's a shame they haven't done something like Emma Freud. Quentin Tarantino, Lisa Kudrow, Brooke Shields, Val Kilmer, or Leonard Cohen who actually was a member of The Partridge Family Fan Club. And many more.
We have of course a wonderful play wrote in 2010 by Lucie Fitchett and Victoria Willing. Louise Poynton included their story in her book, 'Cherish David Cassidy A Legacy Of Love, and talked with them for her podcast.
So in the words of David Cassidy..'I think I love you so what am I so afraid of?'
