Tell Me It's Not True / William Russell

But first 'Sooner or Later'. This song is like written for David Cassidy. He seduces us so easily with his voice..We don't have the video from this live performance, just one pic, but we can very easily imagine David on stage (it was in 1996), singing..'There's nowhere to hide..'

Amazing. A great song of course, Stephen Sondheim got an Academy Award  for 'Sooner or Later' in 1991, and Madonna sang it during the ceremony. A kind of jazz ballad which could have been written and performed in a night club in the 30s. DC was very comfortable with that style and sang those songs from Great American Songbook with such ease and sensitivity.

I think it's very important to write about David Cassidy's music. From all decades of his career. We have recently lost our weekly David Cassidy Show on Seabird Radio. After 4 years. That's really hard, because it was something what brought together fans not only from the UK but the rest of the world. Amazing experience to hear his wonderful songs on the radio. The program also had a great educational value, some fans only know the greatest DC's hits from the 70s, and it was a rare opportunity to listen to those less popular songs.

And maybe not everybody has noticed, but the last new episode of Louise Poynton's wonderful podcast, The David Cassidy Connections, was published exactly one year ago, in October 2022. We can still listen to all 59 episodes, those great conversations, interviews, conducted with such class and professionalism by Louise Poynton. She talked with true legends, with DC's friends and colleagues,  and with us, David's fans. About his career, and his music, the impact he had on lives of so many..A Legacy Of Love.

Today I've seen a video with Shaun Cassidy and his nephew, Jack, singing (on stage) 'Tell Me It's Not True'. I think it was in 2021. What can I say..David was in league of his own. We must keep this legacy alive.
