Brown Eyes or What's Your Favourite Song?

Shannon Rigney Malbon, from David Cassidy - Greatest Fans asked fans about David's favourite songs, I think it was two days ago. 

I just love when fans write about their most loved DC's songs. This time quite a few fans chose Brown Eyes. Written By Wes Farrell and Danny Janssen, a hit from 'Sound Magazine'. 

It was used in the episode #4 called 'Undergraduate' from the most popular Season 2, was first aired on October 8, 1971. 2 years ago I took screenshots of that episode for David Cassidy Official Website. That was an amazing experience, I took at least 40, and sent Jane to decide and choose. I couldn't. The way he looked, it was something absolutely mesmerising, This is the link to the screenshots which were finally included in the website.

'Brown Eyes' was a wonderful pop song, and at last David was singing in his own magical voice, He was already a great pop singer at 21. And he sang with such confidence, he knew how good he was. 

The song starts slowly, his vocal at first is soft, but later..such  power and emotions. Sure it was meant to be another love song for teeny boppers, but David made this song great. Just less than 3 minutes of pure magic, this music scene is..

Of course fans mentioned many other songs. Not only the most famous hits. I like what Denise Ames has written about her favourite song, ''There'll Come a Time'. Because he solely wrote it, and I love the joy on his face when he sings it on the show, he is so proud and you can tell this song is different than the rest for him.'. Beautifully said and I agree with her. Yes, he was so proud.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . They Said I Changed A Lot..

Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
