And now a trailer of the film released 58 years ago, I wonder if David had been at that film premiere, in Los Angeles, in June of 1965.

I loved 'Cat Ballou', it was on our TV during Christmas in the early 70s. I wanted to look like Jane Fonda and was a leader of a gang. I was 11 years old. 'Cat Ballou' is listed as the 10th greatest western of all time. Lee Marvin got an Academy Award for his role. Nat King Cole's final film appearance. Directed by Elliot Silverstein, at the time teenage David Cassidy's stepfather.

He died a few days ago, it wasn't a very big news, his last film was released in 1994. But he was very respected and worked on many projects. Elliot Silverstein was 96 years old.

He was DC's stepfather just for a few years, and it was not the best time to develop something more between them, a stronger relationship. Elliot was very busy with his career, David ..with his life. Elliot married Evelyn in 1962, but they started dating in New York, in the 50s.

Elliot was intellectual, very well educated, someone completely different than Jack Cassidy. He tried to improve David's self confidence. I've been always wondering why DC didn't make his debut in 'Cat Ballou', why he didn't appear as an extra?..He worked with his mum on stage at the time, he wanted to be an actor. And I've never seen a single pic of David and Elliot together..only a few Elliot took of David..

They lost contact after Elliot and Evelyn's divorce, but they became friends, or even more in later years. For David, Elliot Silverstein was a family. And it was Sue Shifrin who first wrote on Instagram about former David's stepfather death..

And Sal Mineo. It was Elliot who introduced David to Sal. He directed a TV play with Sal. Mineo was 23 years old, a former teen idol, a charismatic actor nominated for Academy Award at the age of 17. When they met DC was still a kid, but in a few years they became friends..

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. That tv series was shown in my country I think in 1978, and everybody watched it, also a lot was written about the cast. So one day I read that Kay's husband was a former teen idol, David Cassidy. Let's first listen to something which was not released, why they didn't want David singing that song is a great mystery for me. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
